'ZNMD' on Awards spree


Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' (ZNMD) stole the limelight winning six awards, including the best film and the best director, at the seventh annual Apsara Awards. Besides winning the best director trophy, Zoya walked away with awards for the best film, best screenplay and shared the best story award with Reema Kagti for 'ZNMD'. Farhan Akhtar got best supporting actor award, while Bosco-Caesar got the best choreography award for 'Senorita' from the same film. Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan got the best actor and actress award for their performance in 'Rockstar' and 'The Dirty Picture', respectively. Parineeti Chopra took away the best supporting actress award for her performance in 'Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl'. In the villain category, Prakash Raj got the best actor award for his role in 'Singham'.

Imtiaz Ali's 'Rockstar' swept the awards in the music category, with the best music director award for A R Rahman, best lyrics award to Irshad Kamil for 'Naadaan Parindey', and best playback singer (male) to Mohit Chauhan for 'Saada Haq'. Shreya Ghoshal got the best female playback singer award for "Teri Meri" in 'Bodyguard'. Rajat Arora got best dialogue award for 'The Dirty Picture'.In the technical award category, Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Saath Khoon Maaf' won awards for best art direction (Subrata Chakraborty and Punita Grover), best costume design (Payal Saluja). The cinematography award was shared by Ranjan Palit ('Saath Khoon Maaf') and Chirantam Das ('Tanu Weds Manu'). Shah Rukh Khan's 'Ra.One' won three awards -- Resul Pookutty and Amrit Pritam Dutta got best sound design, best special effects (Red Chillies VFX), and best sound mixing (Anup Dev and Tarun Bhandari). Aarti Bajaj got the best editing award for 'No One Killed Jessica'.
