Last we heard, James Cameron and Fox were targeting the “spring of 2012″ to re-release Titanic in 3D. Thanks to Ministry of Gossip [via /Film], we now know that the spring month in question is April. The news was mentioned in a tribute to Gloria Stuart, who played “Old Rose” in the film and celebrated her 100th birthday on July 4th. April 2012 marks a centennial anniversary of its own, as the RMS Titanic attempted to traverse the Atlantic from April 12-14, 1912. In addition to the historical timing, the intended month of release (nearly two years away) gives Cameron and Co. plenty of time to perfect the finer details of the 3D conversion.

Notably, it was only this year that Cameron’s own Avatar finally toppled the 1997 disaster flick to become the highest grossing film of all time. As such, the re-release should be a good litmus test for the 3D conversion of cinema’s live-action classics, both in their aesthetic appeal and financial viability.

About Movie: Four years after it was made and went around the festival circuit, young film maker Rajshree Ojha's English multi-starrer Chaurahen is finally up for release marking the Indian cinema debut of Charlie Chaplin's grand daughter Kiera.
Despite its delayed release this month, Ojha hopes that the film - which has an ensemble cast of Soha Ali Khan, Ankur Khanna, Victor Banerjee, Roopa Ganguly, Zeenat Aman, Shayan Munshi besides Kiera Chaplin - will connect with the audience.
The film holds its relevance even after four years as "the situation, about love and how people move on in life, has not changed overtime,” Ojha said.
Insisting that a director should not necessarily be stuck with films of one genre, Ojha said the story line was entirely different from her other film Aisha based on Jane Austen's Emma. The film, made after Chaurahen, was more into a romantic comic mould unlike this film which consists four separate stories set in three different metros.
Ojha was also very appreciative of the role of Kiera, cast as Lea, a girl who arrives in Kolkata, one of the three cities, to find her moorings and hopes the 29-year-old model-turned-actress would get more offers after Chaurahen.
“She (Kiera) saw my first small film. She said four ingredients - my first short film, me, the script of Chaurahen and the chance to visit Kolkata and India - prompted her to act in the film and she did not charge a single penny,” Ojha said.

The film is largely based on A Princess of Mars, the first novel to feature John Carter. The novel was originally published as a magazine serial in 1912 and then brought out in book form in 1917. In the novel John Carter is an American Civil War veteran who is miraculously transported to Mars, known to its inhabitants as Barsoom. He is immediately captured by a race of green-skinned barbarians who are 12 feet (4 meters) tall and have six limbs, green skin, and long tusks. Formerly an Earthlike world, Barsoom has become less hospitable to life over the millennia. As its oceans evaporated and its atmosphere thinned, Barsoom's inhabitants became hardened and warlike, constantly fighting one another to survive. Barsoomian society thus devolved into partial barbarism.
Carter befriends the Green Martian Tars Tarkas and rescues a humanoid Red Martian princess, Dejah Thoris, from the Tharks, a belligerent tribe of Green Martians. He gains the Barsoomians' respect with his superior strength and fighting ability. Carter ultimately enlists the Green Martians' assistance in winning a war waged by Dejah Thoris' people, and he saves all Martians from asphyxiation when the planet's atmosphere factory malfunctions.
