Mumbai, March 23rd 2012: Ahoy, fans of The Avengers! The wait is finally over! The much talked-about Hindi theme song of The Avengers 'Hello Andhero' - composed and performed by popular band Agnee and lyrics by noted filmmaker Abbas Tyrewala (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Jhootha Hi Sahi) - is being officially launched on Monday, March 26th in a spectacular music launch at Blue Frog at 7 pm. While Agnee will take the stage and perform Hello Andhero live, the biggest attraction of the night will be the appearance of Ironman at the venue!
The Avengers, produced by Marvel Studios and being distributed in India by UTV Motion Pictures, had roped in Abbas and Agnee to create a theme song for their upcoming action-adventure flick The Avengers. A music video of the song will also be launched at the music launch.
The Avengers is the most anticipated Hollywood film this year and Agnee being a popular band in India makes it a double bonanza for the Indian comic fans. The Avengers theme song and the music video will be widely marketed and will be available across various platforms. The movie will bring together the super hero team of Marvel Comics characters for the first time ever, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the Hulk and more, as they are forced to band together to battle the biggest foe they've ever faced.
The Avengers is set to release in India on 27th April, 2012, a week before the US release date. The film will release in 3D and 2D versions. The film has also been dubbed for Hindi, Tamil and Telugu release. Shikha Kapur, Senior VP, UTV Motions Pictures, says, "The Avengers is the biggest Hollywood movie to be released this summer and we are delighted that Agnee and Abbas Tyrewala have given us a meaningful song like Hello Andhero - that celebrates the victory of good over the forces of evil. The song has only added a whole new dimension to The Avengers that already boasts of having the biggest Hollywood star cast essaying supremely popular super heroes who come together for the first time to save the world."
Agnee's frontmen, Mohan and Koco, says, "This one's been a song that's taken us on a long and very satisfying journey. At the end of it all, we're not very sure who's contributed the most: Abbas with his super lyrics, Aditi (Singh Sharma - female vocals) with her voice and outstanding singing, the band with the composition and delivery, Shiraz Bhattacharya, Chola and team on the video and styling, or UTV for giving us the right brief and putting the video together so well. It's the best place to be after a song's made, and we're glad to be part. Avengers is one of the most awaited films this year, and seeing the video, we're sure it'll be well worth the wait!" About Agnee:
Agnee launched their first album with Sony BMG (now Sony Music) in 2007, and the songs from the album like Sadho Re, Kabira, Shaam Tanha and Ujale Baaz have since gone on to become cult hits. In 2009, the band decided to go independent and became the first mainstream band to release singles for free download, starting a trend subsequently followed by almost all leading artists with their non-film releases. The first such release, The Splitsvilla Theme Song, became one of the biggest non-film songs released in India, and also the first song to be released without lyrics. The version with lyrics, Aahatein, also won the prestigious GIMA for best Pop / Rock Single in 2011. Agnee's the first band in India to have started to involve fans in their music, with the launch of their unique "Create with Agnee" initiative. Create with Agnee is a continuous process of involving other creative minds in each song of Agnee, and with this initiative, Agnee's collaborations have spanned listeners, singers, lyricists, composers and instrumentalists. Agnee has also scored music for upcoming films "Shala" (Marathi) and "Aalaap" (Hindi) as music directors. Agnee consists of Koco and Mohan on composition, guitars and vocals. On stage, Michael Pereira on keyboards, Among Jamir on bass, Hrishikesh Datar on drums, Nitin Joshi on sound and Pradeep Ratanjankar, the music tech, join the band to create the live experience that is Agnee.
